Regional library looking for new director

The Board of Trustees of Live Oak Public Libraries announced the resignation of Library Director Christian Kruse on Tuesday. He is leaving to focus on personal and family obligations.

Kruse joined the library in 2002 and saw it through many changes, construction and other projects, including the soon-to-be-completed new Hinesville library branch.

"We appreciate his many contributions over the years and wish him well for his future," reads a statement from Live Oak Public Libraries.

The board has provisionally named Jason Broughton, assistant director of public services,as the interim library director. The board has set a special meeting for 6 p.m. Tuesday at the Bull Street Library in Savannah to discuss the position.

Live Oak Public Libraries oversees operations of several libraries in the area, including branches in Hinesville and Midway.
