Due to the severe weather expected from Tropical Storm Hermine many of the local schools have cancelled or rescheduled several athletic events. This information will be updated as we continue to receive information from the coaching staff or school athletic director.
FPCA:
First Presbyterian Christian Academy has cancelled all school activities and athletic events until Tuesday (football, club events, field trips, volleyball, etc.). According to their release the Little Landers Spirit Squad will still have practice Thursday afternoon and our extended care program will still operate during its’ normal hours. Should you have any questions, please contact the school office.
FPCA Principal, Shannon Hickey said Thursday’s volleyball game against Wayne County and Friday’s football game against Trinity Christian. As of now neither game is being rescheduled.
Long County:
Football coach Eric McNair said the Blue Tide game at Jeff Davis is cancelled and as of now a new date is pending. Softball coach Brian Thomas said Friday's game is canceeled. He noted, for now, games set for Saturday are still on.
Liberty County:
Thursday’s softball game against Pierce County is cancelled and not yet rescheduled. Friday's football game at Statesboro has been rescheduled to 10 a.m. Saturday, pending any storm damage to the areas.
Bradwell
Athletic Director Ken Griffin confirms the Friday football game is cancelled. They are trying to reschedule as soon as possible. Softball coach Sharyl Eastlake said Thursday's softball game is cancelled but not yet rescheduled.
