STC Board of Directors welcomes Lovette

Donald Lovette, a native of Liberty County, was sworn in at a recent meeting as a member of the Savannah Technical College Board of Directors by Judge John E. Morse Jr.

Lovette was appointed to serve on the STC board by the Technical College System of Georgia (TCSG) state board. He previously served on the STC Board of Directors as a member and chairman.

He is a graduate of Bradwell Institute High School (1973) and North Georgia Technical College and an honor graduate of Brewton-Parker College. He is the director of Laboratory Services for Liberty Regional Medical Center in Hinesville.

In 1988, he was elected to the first elected Liberty County Board of Education. In 2002, he was elected as Liberty County Commissioner, District 2. In 2012 he was elected to serve as chairman of the Liberty County Board of Commissioners and was re-elected in 2016.

He is a lifelong member of the Pleasant Grove AME Church, where he serves as steward pro-tem, men’s choir director and new member’s class teacher. He is also a member of the Gospel Cousinaires.
