Update: Hinesville City Hall closed, no Liberty transit service or trash pickup

Hinesville City Hall will be closed Friday in anticipation of the impact from Hurricane Hermine.

 There also will be no trash pickup and Liberty Transit buses will not run. Trash pickup in Hinesville is expected to be postponed until Saturday. 

The city will continue to post 24/7 storm and closure updates on cityofhinesville.org, facebook.com/HinesvilleGA and Twitter @HinesvilleGA.

 At Thursday night's Hinesville City Council meeting, City Manager Billy Edwards stated in his report that emergency servies like police and fire, will not deploy when winds reach more than 45 mph due to safety concerns. Winds are expected to reach up to 60 mph in Liberty County, according to Mike Hodges, director of Liberty County Emergency Mangement Agency.
