A two-pickup wreck at Cecil Nobles Highway and Gordon Lane resulted in two fatalities, according to the Georgia State Patrol.

The Georgia State Patrol is investiging a two-pickup crash that killed two people Wednesday morning in Long County.

According to GSP Trooper Carl Hutchinson, a black Nissan pickup driven by Richard Lee Dasher, 57 of Glennville, was heading toward Ludowici on Cecil Nobles Highway around 6 a.m. Wednesday when the pickup hit a tree laying on the road. The pickup dragged the tree for several feet before veering into oncoming traffic, hitting a 2004 Toyota Tacoma head on near Gordon Lane.  That vehicle was driven by Richard Franklin Stone, 61 of Fleming Island, Fla.  according to Hutchinson. 

Hutchinson said Stone was enroute to a job in Vidalia and last spoke to his wife around 5 a.m. Delete-Merge Up

The drivers of both vehicles were pronounced dead at the scene of the accident, according to Hutchinson.
