ATLANTA — State Rep. Al Williams, D-Midway, hosted the annual Eugene C. Tillman Sr. Memorial Prayer Convocation Jan. 10.

“Under the Gold Dome, the work we are tasked with is difficult, but we are told to approach all things with prayer and petition,” Williams said. “What better way to kick off the start of our legislative session than with a time of prayer and reflection? I would like to thank Speaker Ralston, as well as all my colleagues who attended, and may God bless our efforts these next 40 days.”

The annual convocation is held the Sunday before the first day of the session. This year, House Speaker David Ralston addressed the crowd.

Founded by the late Rev. E.C. Tillman Sr., who also served in the state House, and former state Rep. Dr. Ronald Crews, the Georgia Legislative Prayer Caucus is a nonpartisan organization that is open to all legislators and Capitol employees.
