The city of Hinesville hosted the Liberty County Chamber of Commerce’s 2016-17 Young Adult Liberty Leaders on Oct. 20.
The YALL class members were given a behind-the-scenes look at city government. Mayor Allen Brown welcomed the class and spent time sharing his duties and responsibilities. The class toured City Hall, the fire department and met with members of the police department. They also had the opportunity to dress in fire prevention gear, explore the inside of a squad car and the inside of a holding cell.
Young Adult Liberty Leaders is a 9-month class in which class participants meet at least once per month and learn about various functions of the community to include: county government, city government, public health, public education, tourism, economic development and much more.
