The Long County Courthouse courtroom is undergoing renovation, and officials are hoping people from the county can add a little more history to the room.
“We really would like to have any old pictures of the judges who have served in Long County or any old pictures of the courthouse itself,” Chief Deputy Clerk Diane Middleton said.
According to Middleton, they also will take any old photos that relate to Ludowici or Long County for consideration.
“All pictures may not be used, but we’d appreciate any input from the citizens of Long County. After all, it is their courthouse,” Middleton said.
The building was erected in 1921 and is one of the oldest courthouses in the state.
Anyone interested in submitting a photo or photos, is asked to drop them off at the courthouse. The only information needed is the owner’s name and telephone number on the back of the photo so they can be returned.
For more information, call Middleton at 545-2123.
