Marne Chapter selected as BEST by AUSA

The Association of the United States Army, Alexandria Virginia, announces The Marne Chapter as BEST Chapter, Category IV, 2021.  The Marne Chapter will be recognized at the AUSA Annual Meeting at the opening Ceremony, October 11, 2021 as well as at the Eisenhower luncheon and Marshall Dinner.

This will be the first time in the 52-year history that the Chapter has been operational that the Marne Chapter has earned this award by The Army's Association, AUSA. 

Executive Board Members including Past President Carla Schreihofer, President Ric Schreihofer, Vice President JROTC/ROTC George Frederick and Vice President Retiree and Veterans Affairs Pete Hoffman, will travel to the annual meeting to participate in the event and accept the award. During a year in which programming, membership and activities were limited more than ever, the Marne Chapter and its leaders excelled to be named AUSA Best Chapter 2021, Category IV.

The Marne Chapter began this past week with in person events on Fort Stewarts, Club Stewart, where they had a luncheon and speaker. The speaker was Dr. George Frederick and he shared information about Georgia Southern University's ROTC Program and how the Army ROTC (Reserve Officers Training Corp) is one of the best leadership courses in the country and part of the cadets’ college curriculum. Upon graduation from college and completion of GSU's Army ROTC program, the cadets will earn the bar of Second Lieutenant, becoming a leader for life. The 2, 3, and 4-year Scholarship options based on the time remaining to complete your degree include Scholarships pay Tuition & Fees or Room & Board.

The 2021-2022 Marne Chapter programming includes, zoom virtual events monthly, more luncheons quarterly, and professional development events every other month as well as its annual Army Birthday Golf Tournament. Membership is not necessary but encouraged to attend these events. As part of the AUSA National initiative happening in the community, the Marne Chapter of AUSA would like to "Welcome you Back.
