Less than two hours after the qualifying period for this year’s municipal elections closes today, the first political debate of the 2007 campaign season will kick off at Brewton-Parker College.

Debate starts at 6 p.m.

The Liberty County Branch of the National Association for the Advancement of Colored People is hosting a political forum for candidates in the Hinesville mayoral race to give each political hopeful a chance to introduce their platform to the community.
To ensure potential voters have an input in the debate, audience members will be supplied with 3X5 index cards to submit candid questions for the candidates during question and answer portions of the forum.
The debate starts at 6 p.m. in Brewton-Parker’s auditorium, 2140 E. Oglethorpe Highway, and is scheduled to end at 9 p.m.
For more information, visit the Liberty County NAACP’s Web site at www.libertycountynaacp.org or call 884-7334.
