Outfitted in festive holiday gear, Fort Stewart soldiers, spouses and their children gathered Thursday night outside Club Stewart for Fort Stewart’s annual Christmas tree-lighting ceremony.
The 3rd Infantry Division Band set the scene with Christmas classics and invited the audience to sing along. In addition, the Liberty High School Chorus and Bradwell Institute cheerleaders performed. After singing and dancing with merry elves, children in attendance were treated to a visit from Santa Claus, who listened to little ones’ Christmas wish lists and posed for pictures.
To cap off the joyful night, the crowd participated in a countdown as Fort Stewart’s giant Christmas tree, adorned with hundreds of twinkling lights, was ceremoniously lit.
