Liberty and Bryan County residents need not panic. Where they see smoke, it’s likely caused by controlled burns.
Fort Stewart Forestry Branch conducted controlled burns at a number of range training areas Tuesday. Flames and smoke were visible from east of Bryan Village.
Signs advising motorists of the burns were posted at near Wright Field Road near Flemington and Georgia Highway 144.
