Soldiers from the 3rd Infantry Division Headquarters Battalion conducted a base defense live-fire exercise April 27 on Fort Stewart.

The exercise aimed to increase readiness across the division staff prior to their upcoming deployment to Afghanistan which is slated for this summer. 

The exercise tested soldiers’ knowledge of their weapons systems and how they will respond in combat, including caring for wounded.
