ATLANTA — A national campaign to collect photos of the people named on the Vietnam Veterans Memorial is coming to Atlanta.

U.S. Sen. Johnny Isakson, Atlanta Mayor Kasim Reed and others will gather in Centennial Olympic Park in downtown Atlanta at 10:45 a.m. Tuesday to issue a call for photos. As part of the campaign, a half-scale replica of the Vietnam memorial will be on display at the park.

The replica hasn't been to the city since 1998.

The campaign aims to gather the remaining 35,000 photos of the 58,272 veterans whose names appear on the wall. The photos will be featured as part of a permanent exhibit at the memorial in Washington, D.C.
