Rotary Club honors sergeant for November

Staff Sgt. James Chase Law is the Hinesville Rotary Club’s November Soldier of the Month.

Law serves as the M119A3 Howitzer section chief, battery equal opportunity representative, battery master driver and battery motorcycle mentor on Fort Stewart.

His military occupational specialty is field artillery, and he has nine years of service. He has won a number of awards and commendations, including three Army Commendation Medals, three Army Achievement Medals, two Army Good Conduct Medals, two Iraq Campaign Medals and two Noncommissioned Officer Professional Development Medals.

He was twice deployed to Iraq during Operation Iraqi Freedom, from January 2007 through March 2008, and from May through November 2011. He also was deployed to Haiti from January through March 2010 to help with earthquake relief.

Law’s family consists of his wife, Desiree, and children, Aiden James, 4, Catalina Grace, 2, and Brennan Asher, who is expected in February.

His hometown is Window Rock, Arizona, and his hobbies include playing football, baseball and softball, hunting, fishing, camping, motorcycle riding and learning about diesel engines.
