Sergeant Adjovi Menan-Kirkland is a civil affairs medic with Fort Stewart’s 82nd Civil Affairs Battalion. She’s also an avid knitter, and that love of knitting gifts for soldiers and their families led her to re-enlist Friday in the yarn section of Hobby Lobby in Hinesville.

Menan-Kirkland, a native of Togo, Africa, was recently awarded a meritorious service medal for her work saving lives while deployed to Senegal and Niger in 2015-16.

She also speaks three languages, Awaya, French and English, and joined the military in 2012. Her re-enlistment is for six years.
