The city of Hinesville proclaims June 4 as Buddy Poppy Day. The proclamation was signed May 31. Buddy poppies are assembled by disabled and needy veterans and distributed by VFW members. Local VFW members and auxiliary members will hand out poppies Saturday at the Walmart in Hinesville.
