The following cases will be presented to the Grand jury when they meet in September.

Julie Barnard
Julie Barnard was charged with one count of first degree arson and five counts of aggravated assault in what police believe was a murder suicide attempt. Barnard reportedly set fire to the home where her estranged husband and children were sleeping on May 31. When the children woke up to the smoke alarms it was reported the Barnard gathered the children in the bedroom and asked them to pray together. The eldest daughter is credited with saving her siblings by breaking out a window and getting everyone outside. John Barnard was able to get out by pushing out the window unit air conditioner and crawled to safety. Julie Barnard fled the scene after dropping the children off at Liberty Regional Medical Center where her daughter was treated for injuries. Barnard was captured later that evening wandering the roadways in Ludowici and threatening suicide with a gun.

Motions hearing
There is a scheduled motions hearing on Sept. 7, for Corey A. Brown. Brown and his girlfriend Andrea Wilson are charged with several counts of cruelty to children and murder for their alleged involvement in the death of three-year-old Prince Davis. Wilson and Brown are being tried separately but the State is seeking the death penalty for both.
