Any day on the water is a good day

Hello, everyone. Tight Line Jr. here, and I hope things are going well in your world. I know we’ve had some rain lately, but remember that’s good for everything including shrimp, fish and blue crabs. I do have a few reports from around the coast, so let’s get started.
Roy Redman, fishing solo, caught the limit on trout last week. Danny Goodman, fishing out of Yellow Bluff, reported catching four spottail bass. Maybe he should try my cinnamon recipe from last week.
Toby Conners and a party of two boats had a fine day of fishing last weekend. After some time out on the saltwater, they returned with 20 spottail bass and about 25 trout. That’s good enough to kick off the fall season with a fish fry.
Now down around St. Simons, my buddy Capt. Jim Sheridan and crew caught the limit on bass and trout. They also landed five flounder. I may have to travel down there and wet a hook sometime.
It looks like we are going to have some nice weather for the coming week. So, now would be a good time to get out there and try your luck. Any day out on the water is a good day.
If you need bait, here’s where to go. Yellow Bluff has live shrimp, mud minnows and live crab. Half Moon has live shrimp. Sunbury Crab Company has live shrimp, minnows and frozen bait. The Midway Feed and Supply offers a supply of freshwater and saltwater baits. And last but not least, Big Rudy at The Sunbury Country store has frozen shrimp, squid, cigar minnows, finger mullet and ballyhoo.
Now remember what Ol’ Tight Line always said: “Get out there and go fishing, and if you do, always remember to keep a tight line.”
I say hit the docks, keep a sharp eye and watch that cork go down.
I will be back next week with some reports from the dock tour. We soon will be welcoming a new member to the dock tour, Sgt. Roy Rogers, and we are looking forward to that.
So until next time, get out there and wet a hook. It’s good for the soul.
God bless our troops.

Your buddy,
Tight Line Jr.
