I have several fishing reports from anglers who have braved the heat recently to get out on the water.
Robert Moody and party caught 12 trout and three flounder on Aug. 14. James Franklin and party caught 15 trout and three bass. Gus Harper and party caught eight trout and five flounder. Bing Phillips, Robert Moody and Harry Page caught 36 vermillion snapper, 18 spadefish and two kings. Phillip Bohannan and Mike Clifton caught 17 trout and four bass. Charlie Phillips and party caught 25 trout. Jeff Pope and Munik caught 11 trout and three flounder. Billy Kirk and Philip McCallen caught 18 trout and 2 flounder. Bill Forhand and party caught 6 flounder and 16 trout. I am going to enclose a recipe I think all of you might enjoy.

Baked Flounder
1-1/2 pounds of flounder filets*
Salt and pepper
3 ounces sherry
1-1/2 cups (2 sticks) melted butter
2 cups breadcrumbs
Preheat the oven to 375 degrees. Lay the flounder filets in a buttered 13x9x2-inch baking dish. Season with salt and pepper to taste. Pour the sherry over the fish, then pour on half of the butter. Cover the fish with the breadcrumbs and pour the remaining butter over the crumbs. Bake for 15 minutes.
*Cooked lobster meat or raw scallops may be substituted for the flounder.
The result of the recipe and great and it is best when you cook fresh fish, so go out there and catch some fish.
And if you do go fishing remember to keep a tight line. Rayburn Goodman at Yellow Bluff fishing camp has live shrimp and minnows.
