Cold weather calls for warm dip
Placeholder Image

Hello, everyone. Tight Line Jr. here.

Well my friends, it’s been a cold week and we might be in store for some wet weather, too. That means the fish might not be biting as they normally would. While there is not much happening on the fishing front, here is a little treat to warm you up on a cold afternoon. Dig into a nice bowl of this tasty dip while watching a ball game. This recipe was sent to my father by a nice lady named Dot Johnson.

Hot crab dip

Ingredients:

8 ounces of cream cheese

1 tablespoon of milk

2 or 3 good shakes of Worcestershire sauce

7 ounces of crab meat (drained)

5 good shakes of Tabasco sauce

Half of a chopped onion

Directions:

Stir all the ingredients together and top with toasted almonds or crushed Ritz crackers. Sprinkle with paprika and bake at 350 degrees for 15 minutes.

Spread the dip on garlic toast for a yummy treat.

My dad really enjoyed that recipe. This will be my family’s first Christmas without my dad, Ol’ Tight line, but I’m sure he and Mrs. Kitty will have a great holiday celebration together in "the big upstairs."

I would like to take this time to wish all of you good folks out there a very merry Christmas.

So happy holidays, everyone, and until next time, remember what my dear old dad used to say: Get out there and go fishing and, if you do, always remember to keep a tight line. I always say hit the dock, keep a sharp eye and watch that cork go down. Until next time, happy sailing, my friends. Go wet a hook — it’s good for your spirit.

From the Branch family to your family and to all the men and women serving our great country, may God bless you.

Your buddy,

Tight Line Jr.
