Day in Darien has 5-mile bike tour

History will come alive in front of your eyes! Fun for the whole family, bring your bicycles and soak up the coastal charm of Darien, Georgia’s second oldest city Saturday, admission is free.
Schedule
9 a.m. Check-in meeting - Darien-McIntosh County Chamber of Commerce
9:30 a.m. Depart from 105 Fort King George Drive         
9:50 a.m. Arrive at St. Andrews Cemetery (Thomas Spalding Family Burial Grounds)
10:10 a.m. Depart
10:15 a.m. Arrive at Ashantilly (Thomas Spalding Mainland Home)
10:30-11:30 a.m. Buddy Sullivan Author, Local &  State Historian will give a brief history.
11:30-noon Tours of the Main House
Noon Lime Burning (demonstration of the making of TABBY)
12:30 p.m. Depart              
12:45 p.m. Arrive at Fort King George ($5 entrance fee per adult). Lunch available on the grounds for purchase. Artillery and Musket Firing along with many hands-on activities will be on display.
2 p.m. Battle Reenactment
3 p.m. Depart
3:10-5 p.m. Enjoy the  Day in Darien Festival in historic Darien.
