Deadline looms for deer quota hunt

SOCIAL CIRCLE — The window of opportunity is closing for people interested in a 2012 deer quota hunt.  
Those interested must complete submit a completed online quota application before midnight Sept. 1, according to the Georgia Department of Natural Resources’ Wildlife Resources Division.  
Deer quota opportunities include hunts on wildlife-management areas and state park lands, dog-deer hunting and adult/child hunting opportunities.
Here is how to apply:
1. Go to www.georgiawildlife.com/hunting/quota. Then click on “Access the NEW Quota Hunt System!”
2. Read all instructions under the “About” tab thoroughly. The instructions contain information on how to create an account and successfully submit an application.
3. Create an account. The new system was launched in 2012.
4. Apply using the instructions provided under the “About” tab.
