Enjoy the game while munching on crab wraps

How is everyone this week? Tight Line Jr. here, and Ol’ Tight Line and I are sitting around talking about the high tides with the crescent moon. Now that gives a whole new meaning to high tide. But come high tide, rain or muddy water, fish still have to eat, so get out there and feed them.

I do have a couple of dock reports this week so here we go. Senior ex-co-captain Mr. George Ginter, fishing on a dock on the Jericho River, netted 10 nice gator trout and five spottail bass. Boo Hall and I hit the docks this week and caught two trout, three black drum and four spottail bass while using frozen shrimp.

Here is a little something you can whip up to munch on while you’re watching the Bulldog game this weekend.

Take some fresh crab meat and simmer it in a sauce pan with some virgin olive oils, chopped garlic, chopped jalapeños and chopped onions. Simmer for roughly 8-10 minutes or until the crab meat is done.

Take the crab meat mixture and spoon it into lightly floured tortillas. Roll them up with tin foil and bake at 320 degrees for 20 minutes.

While the tortillas are baking, mix some sour cream, cream cheese and hot sauce together to make a spread.

That’s what I call "red dawg crab wraps."

If you need some bait, Halfmoon has live shrimp. Yellow Bluff has live shrimp and minnows. Big Rudy at the Sunbury Country Store has fresh local shrimp and squid. Sunbury Crab Company and Marina has live shrimp and minnows.

Remember what Ol’ Tight Line says and get out there and get fishing. And if you do, always remember to keep a tight line. I say hit the docks, keep a sharp eye and watch that cork go down. It’s always a good day to wet a hook.

Your buddy,

Tight Line Jr.
