Fun run helps provide holiday meals
5Krun
East Liberty County American Legion Post 321s annual 5K fun run/walk and 1K costume canter is set for Saturday Nov. 1.

East Liberty County American Legion Post 321’s annual 5K fun run/walk and 1K costume canter is set for Saturday.
The run is a fundraiser for the post’s annual Holiday Basket Program, which provides Thanksgiving meals to as many families as possible.
The run costs $20, but that can be offset with donations of canned goods of equivalent value. The run starts from the Historic Midway Church with registration at 7 a.m. Saturday. The run begins at 8.
“Once again we are striving to provide holiday food baskets to those who could use a hand,” post Commander Dennis Fitzgerald said.
Jeff Bowen said the baskets will serve six to eight people and will include a turkey, mashed potatoes, vegetables, rolls, dressing and a roasting pan. They will be handed out Nov. 24.
Donations of food, dry goods and cash will be accepted. For more information, call Fitzgerald at 980-5204, Bowen at 432-5723 or email eastlibertyampost321@gmail.com.
