The Liberty County Bass Club held a tournament Sept. 8 on Lake Blackshear in Cordele. Ron Welch, left, took first place, catching four fish with a total weight of 9.01 pounds. Johnnie Lawson, center, placed second with four fish weighing 8.97 pounds. Will Eller earned the big-fish award after landing a 4.49-pound catch. The club’s next tournament is Oct. 6 in Hardeeville.
