License sales topic at meeting

The Georgia Department of Natural Resources’ Wildlife Resources Division plans to change hunting and fishing licenses over the Internet raised so many concerns that the department decided to revise the plan.
The new system, expected to be available Jan. 1, will now offer increased sales availability for current license agents statewide. To share information about this new system and provide the public an opportunity to comment on other concerns, DNR will host a series of public meetings.
The town-hall type meetings will be in different parts of the state. DNR personnel will present information about the changes and sportsmen will have an opportunity to share concerns. The closest meeting to Liberty County will be at 7 p.m. Tuesday, Aug. 12, at Altamaha Technical College. 1777 W. Cherry Street in Jesup.
