Local man lands a foot-long shrimpzilla
Shrimpzilla1

Gary Patrick made an unusual catch while trolling for shrimp along the marshes of coastal Midway. On Sept. 15, he pulled up his net and discovered a foot-long prawn. Curious about his catch, Patrick called the Department of Natural Resources and was told the giant shrimp probably was an Asian Tiger, which is a rare catch for the area. Patrick said the DNR representative told him the recent hurricanes probably washed out aquaculture farms in the Caribbean. Patrick said he plans to keep the shrimp frozen so he can show it to his friends and family. He even gave the shrimp a nickname, calling it shrimpzilla.
