Never know when you might land a rare catch

Hello, everybody. Tight Line Jr. here, and Ol’ Tight Line says hello as well.

As we enjoy our Labor Day weekend, I have a few fishing reports to share with y’all from the coastal area.

Bob Pringel and his son Jacob landed six nice trout. Jacob even landed a 22-inch spottail bass. I always love to hear a story about our young and upcoming anglers.

My ol’ buddy Capt. Jim down on St. Simons caught the limit on trout and spottail bass.

Well, the dock tour was back in full swing as Co-Capt. Boo Hall, my brother-in-law, Al Ramsey, and I landed 12 croaker, six sheepshead and three spottail bass. Hall caught a spade fish off the dock, which Ol’ Tight Line said was a first because spade fish are normally in the ocean.

Rayburn and John at Yellow Bluff Marina have live shrimp and minnows. Dara at Halfmoon Marina has live shrimp. Clay, Joe, Barney and crew at Sunbury Crab Company and Marina have live shrimp and minnows.

Y’all don’t forget about the Sunbury Blue Crab Festival on Sept. 26. If you need some information on it, call 884-8640.

So remember what Ol’ Tight Line says and get out there and get fishing. And if you do, always remember to keep a tight line. I say hit the docks, keep a sharp eye and watch that cork go down. It’s always a good time to wet a hook.

P.S. Junior and Capt. Hippie are going to hit the dock tour tomorrow and I’ll report back to you next week.

Your buddy,

Tight Line Jr.
