PERRY — The 18th annual Georgia National Junior Livestock Show, Feb. 20-24, features Georgia’s 4-H and FFA students competing for statewide championships.
Approximately 2,000 youth will show in classes for hogs, heifers, steers, commercial dairy heifers, and breeding ewes. Admission to the livestock shows is free to the public.
 The 18th annual Georgia National Rodeo, presented by Jeff Smith Dodge, will run Feb. 21-23. Rodeo tickets are on sale on the internet only. Go to www.gnfa.com for information on family and internet discounts.
For the fifth year, the rodeo has been designated a Southeast Tourism Society “Top 20 Event for the Month of February.” (2004, 2005, 2006, 2007, 2008)
The Rodeo is sanctioned by Professional Rodeo Cowboys Association. It features specialty acts plus cowboys and cowgirls from across the country competing in six events; saddle bronc riding, bareback riding, calf roping, steer wrestling, bull riding and barrel racing. Points earned at the rodeo qualify riders for the National Finals Rodeo held in December in Las Vegas.
