POOLER — It’s fall and it’s time again for the 10th annual Showdown in Savannah at Oglethorpe Speedway Park. This is the much anticipate racing event of the year here at OSP.
The showdown will feature dirt track racing over a three-day festival of speed. Race fans will have the opportunity to enjoy dirt late model racing, street/super street cars, pure stock and mini stock plus the always entertaining 440’s and much, much more. Drivers will come from all over the nation to compete for the title of “Showdown in Savannah” champion 2007.
Last year, over 150 drivers showed up and we expect that many if not more this year. These drivers come from all over Georgia, South Carolina, North Carolina and Florida as well as other states. They came to experience the fun atmosphere of the Showdown in Savannah. It is more than just another race, it is a racer’s and race fan’s tradition.
Each division competing this weekend has it’s own characteristics. Each has it’s own rivalries, good guys and bad guys. There are the favorites and the surprises. The only thing that is common among all divisions.... They all want to be crowned a “Showdown in Savannah” champion.
