Swell weather for netting the big catches

Hello to all my fellow anglers out there. Tight Line Jr. here. As always, Ol’ Tight Line says hello.

Well, we sure have had some great weather for fishing lately. Nice and cool, but not too cool. The nice weather was also good news for the folks who attended the Sunbury Blue Crab Festival last weekend. It was a big hit.

The food, music and the drinks were all right on the money, so I wanted to extend a big thank you to the family-owned restaurant and its workers. Good job.

Well friends, I have to tell you, there were some nice trout caught last past weekend. Someone showed me a picture of a 7-pound trout. The fisherman wishes to stay anonymous, but it was caught out near St. Catherines Island.

Stephen Wills and party landed 30 nice trout down around Pine Harbor. Capt. Jimmy and party netted 10 spottail bass and 16 trout down in St. Simons way.

The dock tour is back in full swing. My good buddy George Ginter struck again, landing five spo tail bass, 10 trout and two black drum. I guess he left Guy ‘the anchor man’ back home.

Boo Hall and I hit the docks this past week and we netted some pin fish and five sheepshead, four croakers and two flounders.

My fishing buddy Lu and I are hitting the docks in Richmond Hill this Saturday, so that report is pending.

Rayburn and John at Yellow Bluff have live shrimp and minnows. Big Rudy at the Sunbury Country Store has fresh frozen shrimp and squid. Sunbury Crab Company and Marina have live shrimp and minnows.

Now, remember what Ol’ Tight Line says and get out there and go fishing. And if you do always remember to keep a tight line.

I always say hit the dock, keep a sharp eye and watch that cork go down. So get out there and wet a hook.

Your buddy,

Tight Line Jr.
