Thanks to veterans, and lets get fishing

Hello, everyone. Tight Line Jr. here. I want to thank all the troops and veterans out there, especially my father, Sgt. Maj. Allen F. Branch, better known as Tight Line. He taught me everything about fishing and life. Thank you, and thanks to all the troops. God Bless.

The weather is great for catching fish in the shallows, close to the rocks and shells, or on the marsh islands. Minnows are good this time of year.

The dock tour was good last week. Boo Hall and I netted seven spottail bass in about 20 minutes, two trout and two sheepshead.

Barney Maley from the Sunbury Crab Company and Marina told me his brother Joe Maley caught a five-pound trout last week. Man, that’s a nice one. Barney said he has live shrimp and minnows.

Yellowbluff has live shrimp and minnows. Halfmoon has live shrimp. Big Rudy at the Sunbury Country Store has fresh frozen shrimp and squid.

So, remember what Ol’ Tight Line says and get out there and get fishing. And if you do, always remember to keep a tight line.

I say hit the docks, keep a sharp eye and watch that cork go down.

It’s always a good time to wet a hook.

Your friend,

Tight Line Jr.
