STATESBORO — The sixth annual Statesboro 5K Turkey Trot will be held at 9:30 a.m. Saturday, Nov. 23, in Statesboro.
The race will begin and end at the Bulloch County Courthouse on East Main Street and wind through Statesboro neighborhoods. The 5K run will start at 9:30 a.m., with a 1-mile fun run at 9 a.m.
Entry fees for the 5K race are $15 for all students with valid student ID until the day of the race, and $20 for all others. A late entry fee of $25 will start Sunday, Nov. 10, until the day of the race. Fees for the fun run are $10 for participants 12 and younger. A discounted rate for teams of five or more runners will be $15 per person until the day of the race. Shirts are guaranteed to all runners registered by Nov. 9 and will be available to all other registered participants while supplies last. Registration is at active.com.
New this year to the Turkey Trot is a costume contest. Participants who run in a Thanksgiving-inspired costume could win free entry into next year’s race.
Race day registration and packet pick-up will take place in front of the Bulloch County Courthouse at 8 a.m. Early packet pick-up will take place Friday, Nov. 22, from 4-7 p.m. at Swim.Bike.Run. in Statesboro.
Proceeds from the event benefit the Statesboro Main Street Farmers Market and the Bulloch County Foundation for Public Education.
