SOCIAL CIRCLE — Two of Georgia’s public shooting ranges on Wildlife Management Areas will close for a short time beginning later this month, according to the Georgia Department of Natural Resources, Wildlife Resources Division.
• Richmond Hill WMA Shooting Range will temporarily close for safety May 14 due to nearby timber management. Current plans are to re-open the 100-yard range by June 15.
• Wilson Shoals WMA Shooting Range near Gainesville in Hall County  will close May 22 to complete improvements to this 75-yard firearms range. These improvements include installing seating for waiting shooters, constructing a sign-in area, upgrading the restroom and installing a gun-cleaning station.
