Peanut Butter and Jelly Drive awareness caravan
Peanut Butter and Jelly

Get your Jars ready!

Folks from the Hinesville Rotary Club and the Hinesville Downtown Development Authority will be out and about tomorrow raising awareness for this year’s Peanut Butter and Jelly Drive.

Look for the folks from Coldwell Banker Holtzman Realtors. They will be driving around in the big moving truck that features the photo of the Shanken Team leader Jimmy Shanken.

The Coldwell Banker squad will gather at Coldwell Banker Holtzman Realtors’ office at 10:45 a.m. From there the team will head to Ameris Bank at 11 a.m.

They will be at the Heritage Bank around 11:20 a.m. before going to Jones Osteen and Jones at 11:40 a.m.

The traveling truck will then stop at State Farm Insurance, Joseph Grant at noon. The final stop will be at Hinesville City Hall.

The team isn’t picking up donation just quite yet, however they hope to raise awareness and support.

Last year the Hinesville community collected 3,150 jars. The official pickup day for the donations will be June 6. That day they will tally the amount of jars received at the Farmer’s Market. Last minute donation will be accepted at the market.

All the donations will be given to the Manna House to be used for summer lunches for local residents.

Last year local businesses and organizations competed, each vying to win the designation of top contributor. Ameris Bank and its customers brought in 1,011 jars!

Food Lion and their customers donated 430 jars. The Hinesville Area Board of Realtors brought in 412 jars (with 208 of those from Coldwell Banker Holtzman Realtors). The Vietnam Veterans Association Post 789 amassed 212 jars, GeoVista Credit Union collected 169 jars, Fort Stewart Senior Spouses/Neighbors donated more than 150 jars, Full Gospel Tabernacle brought in 111 jars, St. Philip Episcopal gave 102 jars, and OnShore Outsourcing donated 101 jars.

A full list of drop off sites will be posted once received.
