A single vehicle accident in Hinesville has claimed the life of a Hinesville man shortly before 5 p.m. Wednesday. The accident occurred on Bradwell Street in front of the Board of Education building.

According to Aaron Brant of the Hinesville Police Department Accident Investigation Unit, Rafael Pagan Perez, 65, of Hinesville was pronounced dead at the scene.

Brant said Perez struck several trees and a power pole before his Corvette flipped and came to rest on its roof.  

Brant said they have yet to determine if speed played a factor in the accident. 

 The investigation is ongoing .
