Polls open until 7 tonight
vote

Liberty County voters are deciding whether to renew a sales tax and Long County’s are facing whether to increase property taxes during today’s midterm elections.
Polls across the state are open from 7 a.m.-7 p.m. at usual locations.
Neither county has many contested races at the local level, but are deciding who will serve as governor and in the U.S. Senate for the state. All state constitutional officers and two constitutional amendments and a referendum are on ballots statewide.
Locally the big questions are whether Liberty County can renew a one-percent special purpose local option sales tax for six years, and whether Long County will increase property taxes by 1.6 mills to help build a new school.
