20-year-old shot in RH; in stable condition
Campuses locked down after nearby shooting

A 20-year-man was shot in the head during an altercation at the Plantation Apartments on Casey Drive in Richmond Hill, forcing the nearby middle and high schools to lockdown for more than an hour.

Andrew Addie was shot in the head around 3 p.m. and was taken to Memorial Hospital in Savannah, according to his sister, Jessica Addie. He is believed to be in stable condition.

The middle and high schools, which are located across the street from the apartment complex, were locked down from 3 p.m. to around 4:20 p.m., according to school officials.

Students at Richmond Hill High and Middle schools were released from school about 4:20 this afternoon after being locked down because of an incident across the street, according to school officials.

Bryan County Schools Superintendant John Oliver confirmed that the middle school and high school were locked down at 3 p.m. The incident did not happen on school property.

According to reports, there was a shooting at an apartment complex across the street.
