Hinesville police are investigating what appears to be an accidental shooting death at a mobile-home park.

According to Hinesville Police Department Chief of Detectives Maj. Thomas Cribbs, the Liberty 911 Center received a phone call from a resident at the Cypress Bend mobile-home park in the 900 block of E.G. Miles Parkway shortly before 1 p.m. Monday. The caller reportedly told the operator he accidentally shot someone.

Cribbs declined to provide details of the shooting; however, he said two of the men involved are soldiers in their early 20s, and the person who was killed was a visitor.

An autopsy was scheduled to be conducted at the Georgia Bureau of Investigation crime lab Tuesday. Cribbs said that at this point, the shooting appears accidental and no arrest has been made.
