Assistant superintendent booked for DUI

Liberty County Board of Education Assistant Superintendent for administrative services Jason M. Rogers was arrested and booked for DUI and other charges on Jan. 23.
According to an arrest report from the Liberty County Regional Jail, Rogers was booked on one charge of driving under the influence, one charge of not reporting a minor accident and one charge of driving in circular or zigzag motion.
All three charges are listed as misdemeanor offenses.
Rogers, 35, was arrested around 11:30 p.m. on Jan. 23, and bond in the amount of $1,903 was set. However, Rogers was released on his own recognizance the following morning at 8:38.
The Courier was unable to attain a copy of the incident report indicating where or how Rogers was stopped by Liberty County deputies.
Rogers deferred comment to his attorney, John Harvey of Richmond Hill. Harvey had not returned calls by the Courier as of the time of press.
County Superintendent Judy Scherer has not commented on the matter.
