The Georgia Bureau of Investigation said Tuesday that an autopsy conducted Monday at its Coastal Crime Laboratory Medical Examiner’s Office in Savannah revealed that James Michael Bragg died of a gunshot wound during an alter-cation around 12 a.m. Saturday morning on Lincoln Circle in Kilkenny.
The case remains under investigation, according to the GBI, which was called in by the Bryan County Sheriff’s Office shortly after the incident.
Bragg, 59, of Richmond Hill, was employed with Bragg Enterprises. His funeral was Wednesday.
Because it’s an open investigation, no additional information will be released “at this time,” according to the release.
“At the conclusion of the investigation, the case will be provided to the Atlantic Judicial Circuit District Attorney’s Office for review,” the release states.
