Recent reports filed with the Hinesville Police Department include:

Nov. 11
• Theft by taking — A woman reported two bicycles were stolen from her sister’s property. The women said she was caring for her sister’s dogs while she is out of town. During the dogs’ morning feeding, the two bicycles were still in front of the Parks Lane home. When she came back for the evening feeding, the bikes were gone.
• Damage to property — A semi-truck reportedly damaged a mailbox along E.B. Cooper Highway. The mailbox belonged to Southern Natural Gas Company LLC.
• Possession of marijuana — During a routine traffic stop a deputy noticed that the passenger in the backseat of a green Toyota Camry appeared to be trying to hide something in his pants. The deputy asked the man what he was trying to hide and asked him to step out of the car. The man spit out a leafy, green substance, and when police frisked him, they found a small bag of the same substance down his pant leg. The deputy field-tested the product, which turned out to be marijuana.
