A Liberty County man was found stabbed to death early Sunday morning in Riceboro.
According to Liberty County Sheriff’s Office Detective Brian Barnes, Davis Williams, 28, of Fleming, was found dead shortly after 1:30 a.m. in Ernest and Corine Park on the site of the 12 Gauge Hunting club on Lewis Frasier Road.
Barnes said Williams was attending a birthday celebration at one of the buildings in the park. An altercation broke out during the celebration, and the owners of Ernest and Corine stopped the party and asked an estimated 50 people to leave.  The altercation continued in the parking lot of the park. As the owners were leaving, they found Williams lying on the ground unconscious.
CPR was attempted to revive Williams until it was discovered he had been stabbed multiple times in the back.
Deputies and emergency medical personnel arrived and also attempted to revive Williams. He later was pronounced dead at the scene by medical personnel.
Barnes would not go into detail regarding the number of stab wounds or the status of the investigation.
The sheriff’s office has asked anyone with information to contact them or call 911.
