Blood drive set for Jan. 11

The holiday season is a critical period for blood collections for the American Red Cross. The organization typically sees blood shortages due to schools being out, businesses being closed and people traveling to spend the holidays with loved ones. Unfortunately, blood supplies suffer during this time.
The American Red Cross’ December promotion, Season of Hope, is designed to encourage individuals to help saves lives by donating blood or platelets. All donors who present to give blood from now to Dec. 31 will be able to enter a drawing for a $1,000 gift card.
Through Jan. 6, the organization will also be giving away a limited edition, long-sleeve white Red Cross t-shirt to all who present to donate (while supplies last).
A Blood drive is planned locally:
Liberty County: Hinesville
Jan. 11: 1-6 p.m., Bradwell Institute, 100 Pafford St.
For more information or to schedule an appointment to donate, donors should call 1-800-GIVE-LIFE (448-3543) or visit www.redcrossblood.org
