A hit-and-run accident in Hinesville on Monday led to a chase that ended in Walthourville.

According to Walthourville Police Chief Tracy McFadden, the chase began in Hinesville when a motorist failed to yield to police following an accident.

McFadden said the chase ended on Salette Street in Walthourville when the driver wrecked the vehicle and fled on foot. McFadden said the suspect still is at large.
