Drivers near or on Bill Carter Road should expect lane closures and some traffic delays beginning Thursday as part of a Liberty County road improvement project.
The project, already underway, will reroute Bill Carter Road so that it intersects with Highway 84 at a right angle and create a right turn lane from 84 onto Bill Carter for motorists traveling east on 84.
The road currently intersects with 84 at an angle of approximately 54 degrees, according to county engineer Trent Long.
Work on the intersection is expected to continue through Feb. 10, according to a press release from Liberty County.
“Flagmen will be present during lane closures and traffic will be allowed to pass, however motorists should expect delays,” the release said.
