A Georgia Emergency Management Agency had an incident command system/emergency operations center interface course at Liberty-Hinesville Emergency Management Agency on June 23.
The four-hour course was completed by Chad Relaford of the Riceboro Fire Department, Monicka Bachellor and Cecil W. Brown Jr. of the Gum Branch Fire Department, Samantha C. Ashdown, Terry Kimmel, Jason Welchert and Gary A. Lewis Jr. of the Lake George Fire Department, Jon McIntosh of Fleming Fire and Rescue, Matt Perry of Monroe County Emergency Management Agency, Iban Gutierrez of Fort Stewart Fire Department and Toby Roland of Seminole County Emergency Management Agency.
Hazardous materials
Area residents attended a Department of Transportation, Environmental Protection Agency and Georgia Emergency Management Agency Hazardous Materials Course at L-HEMA on June 24.
 The eight-hour course provides first responders with lifesaving information concerning handling of situations involving fuels, chemicals and other hazardous materials.
Ggraduates included Relaford of Riceboro FD, Bachellor, Brown and and Candace Baross of the Gum Branch FD, Ashdown, Kimmel, Welchert and Lewis of the Lake George FD, McIntosh of Fleming F&R, Travis Parsons and Joanna Carr of Bryan County FD, Lynn Moore of Toombs County Emergency Management Agency, Roland of Seminole EMA and Lindsey Paige Anthony of Georgia EMA.
