A former Hinesville resident could be a victim of an apparent string of shootings that left three people dead and one wounded.
Authorities say Lakeese Shonte Felder, 32, was found dead in Madison, Fla., Monday morning.
Reports out of Florida and Georgia say the same gun used to shoot Felder possibly was also used to shoot Jack Hartley, 34, of Savannah, whose body was found in Bryan County Friday night, and Alton Williams Jr., 38, in Georgetown that night. Williams survived.
Micha Ward, GBI agent in charge of the case, however, said Thursday that ballistic tests had not been completed and links were still just speculation.
A possible suspect in the case, Carlos Huntley, 30, of Savannah shot himself to death in front of Savannah police Tuesday.
According to GBI Agent Cathy Sapp, Huntley is being closely looked at in Friday’s slaying of Savannah man Jack Harley, whose body was found Nov. 27 on Clarktown Road in South Bryan.
Authorities are saying Huntley is also being looked at for the death of his girlfriend, Hinesville native Lakessa Felder.
Attempts to verify Felder’s ties to Hinesville and Liberty County were not successful Thursday.
