Fire damages Long County home

The Long County Volunteer Fire and Rescue Department is based in Ludowici.

A fire Friday morning displaced two adults, according to Long County Volunteer Fire and Rescue Chief Capt. Chris Moss.

He said the fire was discovered around 10:30 in the 300 block of Sharpe Road. Moss said when firefighters arrived the mobile home was approximately 25 percent involved in flames.

Firefighters were able to contain fire damage to two rooms, but the rest of the home sustained smoke damaged.

The Red Cross was notified to assist to assist the couple, who also had four dogs.
